God spoke to Pastor Arnell & Prophetess Gugu Christ through the book of the Prophet Haggai saying: Hag 1:8  Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored," says the LORD. They understood this to mean according to the present dispensation what Paul meant by saying: 1Co 6:19  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 2Co 6:16  … For we are the temple of the living God. …

With this understanding it meant that they were to go to every high & low place to bring in people who will become the temple (house) of God. The challenge became that these people were more worried about their problems than to witness the goodness & glory of God & hence came the Developmental Feeding Program that would address that which people are more worried about while giving them the opportunity to see the goodness of God.

The Developmental Feeding Scheme seeks to address 2 issues i.e.

1. the soul hunger

2. the physical hunger.

Mat 5:6  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. The DFP through the HOPGO training program trains people in Christ & His principles thereby addressing the spiritual hunger. The purpose of these teachings is to encourage retrain, and create positive thinking and attitude in people by understanding that God created man to work (have responsibility)- Genesis 2:5. Consistent teachings are made every week to achieve this purpose. Every morning encouragements, motivations and influential people are brought in to build people onto a positive thinking way so that the programs initiated are successful.

Secondly through our partnership with Mangosuthu University the DFP addresses the skills shortage by skilling the people in the program. After the training the participants then form into a legal co-operative which then utilizes the skill learnt to create work & business for themselves. 

HOPGO is a church on the move bringing both spiritual (the Gospel) and economic empowerment to people in every area and level of society. Through our crusade outreach programs as a church we encounter different types of people in different levels of living standards. When we bring these people to salvation we go on to recruit them through our processes into the ADP and thereby help them to realize their faith for a better life through tangible encounters.
